A woman bought a $700 rare hairless Sphynx cat then it started growing hair.

Rather than actually selling a rare and highly sought-after hairless cat, a cruel breeder had simply shaved some kittens using razors and hair removal creams. They even plucked out the whiskers with tweezers. JoAnne Dyk, spent $ 700 on a cat which she thought was a rare Sphynx only to discover it was all a scum instead, the breeder had actually ruthlessly shaved the cat.

With time, it dawn to Dyk later that the cat was skinny and unhealthy unlike other cats, he was inactive and she assumed that probably it was the new environment. Until the cats hair started growing then everything was clear of what exactly it had been all along- a scum.
